Author: Michael Cumpian

Aphorisms (34, 30, 37, 38, 45, 46, 47, 43)

34. It is through discernment and renunciation that one understands one’s true identity.

30. True renunciation means the giving up of attachment to hearth and home, a high position in society and in business. It is an inner perception. It is an understanding of the Divinity immanent in everything, which causes a fading of distinctions between names and forms. It causes one to experience bliss in every situation, and when in contact with every form.

37. Transcendental Being is a shoreless, bottomless ocean. Swim about, happily, in this deep and undisturbed ocean; only then can one attain true peace.

38. Spiritual discipline can grant no higher capacity. It is the very secret of cosmic order in creation.

45. The sign of a person of wisdom is infinite love.

46. Single-pointed concentration upon Pure Consciousness is the only, real contemplation.

47. When a person who is engaged in meditation forgets both the separate self and the fact that one is engaged in the process of meditation, that is samādhi (absorption).

43. Stillness and silence describe the nature of Pure Consciousness. One who has experienced it will be in the highest peace and the highest bliss. Pure Consciousness is truth, wisdom, and bliss.
