This segment examines the first essential question: What is the purpose of The Pure Teaching?
Aphorism 1 defines the purpose directly: the teaching offers a universal cleansing process through which beings misidentified as separate selves may be liberated into God Identification. God is identified as the Unifying Field of Pure Consciousness, described as relentlessly loving all beings back to Itself. The theological center is therefore non-dual and restorative.
Aphorisms 2–5 introduce the structure of study. Study is described as threefold and must be demonstrated in daily life without omission or addition. The six intentional steps—Accurate Knowledge, Self-Control, Concentration, Self-Investigation, Skillful Effort, and Chanting of The Echoes of God Hymnal—form the operational method of the path. The addition of discipleship with an entheogenic plant medicine and the disciplined performance of The Echoes of God Hymnal situate study within both sacramental and musical practice.
Aphorism 6 makes a significant claim regarding presence. The Echoes of God Hymnal is identified as Udgīthananda’s continuing physical presence on Earth. Performance of the hymnal is therefore not symbolic; it is participatory and relational.
Aphorisms 7–8 widen the scope. Devotional chants across traditions are acknowledged, but Eternal Truth is named as the unifying thread. This universalizing move situates the teaching within a broader spiritual landscape while maintaining doctrinal clarity.
Together, these aphorisms establish purpose, method, presence, and universality. They form the doctrinal foundation upon which subsequent inquiry develops.
